Support Workers

We are currently recruiting for sessional workers to work with our service users across Liverpool. We are especially keen to receive applications from every borough in Liverpool, where we have a growing number of service users.

Essential criteria includes:

  • A positive attitude towards older people/people with disabilities.
  • A commitment to promoting choice.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the rights of people with disabilities.
  • Able to communicate in different ways.
  • Able to adapt to the different needs of different people.
  • Ability to organise your time and keep timed appointments.
  • Care Certificate Training
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2, 3 and 5 in Health and Social Care or working towards this.
 

Desirable criteria includes:

  • Experience of supporting older people/ people with a disability.
  • Able to work varying shift times.
  • Ability to adapt to a number of challenging environments.
  •  Proof of eligibility to work within the UK must be provided. Every worker will need to have an enhanced DBS disclosure before any offer of work is given.

The Recruitment Process:

Once you have contacted us we will arrange an interview with a time that best suits you. 

If you are successful then an application form will be given to you.

OR YOU CAN FILL IN THE FORM IN THE OFFICE.

Once you have filled in the form we will, once again, arrange a suitable time for you to come in to the office to bring in the application form and the following (required) documents:

  • Passport
  • 2 Passport sized photos
  • 2 references (characteristics, professional, academic)
  • Proof of NI number
  • 2 proofs of address that can be no older than 3 months (Bank Statement, Utility Bill, Drivers License)
  • All qualifications (If you don’t currently hold any qualifications, don’t worry! At The Woodlands, we offer training to help you acquire the skills you need.)
  • A Registered and Valid DBS
  • If there is no DBS then we can apply for one on your behalf, however this will require a payment from yourself
 

After this we will wait until your DBS has cleared once it has been cleared we will find the package that suits you best, and get you all the information for you to start work as soon as necessary.
